Are you struggling to find time for reading, exercising, or learning new skills? Google Calendar has introduced a ‘Goals’ feature designed to help users allocate and track time for their personal resolutions. According to Google, this tool uses artificial intelligence to assist both Apple and Android users in setting their goals and identifying optimal times to pursue them.

Users can specify the duration they wish to dedicate to each goal and the most suitable times for engagement. The Calendar will then integrate these activities around existing commitments, even adjusting schedules if conflicts occur. As Google product manager Jyoti Ramnath stated, accomplishing personal goals such as reading more or exercising can be quite challenging.

The ‘Goals’ feature improves over time based on users’ inputs, and initial feedback has been generally positive. However, some users have identified limitations, such as the lack of location tagging for events and the tool’s failure to accommodate life circumstances like childcare. Others highlighted instances where the Calendar suggested activities at inappropriate times, including during family events.

For those interested in utilising this functionality, Android and iPhone users can download or update the Google Calendar App via the Google Play Store or App Store.
