Nearly 3,000 Range Rover Evoque vehicles from the 2020 to 2024 model years are subject to a recall due to concerns regarding a potential manufacturing defect in the passenger airbag. The issue could lead to the airbag tearing during deployment, which poses a significant safety risk.
According to the recall notice, the malfunction could allow hot gases to escape from the airbag, compromising its ability to protect passengers adequately. In the unfortunate event of an accident, this defect may prevent the airbag from functioning correctly, thereby increasing the likelihood of injury or even fatalities among vehicle occupants.
Jaguar Land Rover has advised owners of the affected vehicles to reach out to them to arrange for a free replacement of the faulty passenger airbag. It is essential for consumers to act promptly, as more than 2,800 vehicles are impacted by this recall.
