A mystery lottery winner has less than a month to claim a substantial prize of $670,000 from a draw that took place in 2018. The Gold Lotto jackpot totals $671,513.12, one of six winning tickets from the draw held on 11 August 2018. The ticket was purchased at Golden Lucky News, located at 1-29 Millaroo Drive in Helensvale, Queensland.
According to Queensland lottery regulations, winners have a maximum of seven years from the draw date to collect their winnings. As such, the undiscovered winner must present their ticket for validation by 11 August this year, which is now only three weeks away. This prize stands as the oldest unclaimed lottery winning in Australia.
A spokesperson from The Lott, Anna Hobdell, urged anyone who may have the ticket to reach out immediately at 131 868 to initiate the claiming process. The winning numbers from the specified Gold Lotto draw were 1, 23, 8, 15, 44, 20, complemented by supplementary numbers 11 and 18.
Melanie Zhi, the owner of Golden Lucky News, expressed hope that the unknown winner would come forward before the impending deadline. She noted that while the majority of her customers are local residents, many visitors, particularly from New South Wales, frequent the store, meaning the winner could be anyone.
Having taken ownership of the outlet only last year, Zhi stated it would be remarkable if she could help publicise the winner’s claim. The excitement surrounding the unclaimed jackpot highlights the thrill and anticipation associated with winning the lottery.
