Police are investigating the discovery of a man’s body found near the M1 Pacific Motorway close to Byron Bay in northern New South Wales. The situation unfolded at approximately 7:15 pm yesterday when emergency services responded to a multi-vehicle collision involving three cars and a motorcycle near Billinudgel.
A passerby alerted authorities after spotting a body, which is believed to belong to the motorcyclist involved in the crash. The man has not yet been formally identified. In response to the incident, three drivers from the cars were transported to hospital for mandatory tests, and a crime scene was established by local police.
Investigators from the police crash unit were called to the scene and have commenced an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the accident. All vehicles involved in the collision have been seized for forensic analysis. Additionally, a report will be compiled for the coroner to assist in further investigations into the incident.
