Two individuals are currently receiving treatment in hospital following a multi-vehicle accident on Dandenong Road in Oakleigh, Melbourne, which resulted in a power pole collapse. The incident occurred shortly before 11 am, when a truck collided with a bus, leading to damage to two parked cars.

The bus driver and one passenger were taken to The Alfred hospital with minor injuries, while the truck driver also suffered non-serious injuries. Fortunately, there was no one inside the parked vehicles at the time of the collision.

Authorities have urged drivers heading out of the city to steer clear of Dandenong Road/Princes Highway, as all outbound lanes are closed between Warrigal Road and Atkinson Street. Motorists are advised to use alternative routes, such as the Monash Freeway or North Road, due to traffic delays of at least 20 minutes near Chadstone Shopping Centre.

The road will remain closed until power restoration and police investigations are completed, and inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the accident are ongoing.
