Motorcyclist dies in collision following police chase in Sydney’s south-west

A motorcycle rider has tragically lost his life following a police pursuit in the south-western region of Sydney. The incident unfolded around 2am when officers attempted to stop the motorcyclist travelling south along the Hume Highway near Liverpool. Upon failing to comply, the rider triggered a chase.

However, the police pursuit was soon terminated at Flowerdale Road for safety reasons. Shortly after, the rider collided with a parked vehicle on Flowerdale Road. Emergency services were summoned to the scene, where they made efforts to assist the injured rider.

In response to the incident, a crime scene has been secured, and a critical incident has been declared to facilitate further investigations. The Law Enforcement Conduct Commission will conduct a review of the circumstances surrounding the crash.
