Police in Queensland are actively searching for three teenagers who allegedly threatened a mother at knifepoint in her Townsville home. The incident occurred early in the morning when the group, armed with 40-centimetre knives, broke into the residence, demanding the car keys. The mother, identified as Kristy, described the traumatic experience, recalling the chilling moment when a knife was pressed against her throat, making her fear for her life.
Around 4am, the trio followed Kristy’s car to her home, where they forcibly entered and shouted demands at her. Overwhelmed with fear, Kristy realised she needed to defend herself upon seeing the weapons. The assailants managed to flee with her Ford Everest, leaving behind shattered glass, blood, and a deeply shaken family. Kristy expressed her distress, emphasising that no one should feel unsafe in their own home, especially during the night.
Reports suggest that the same group of teenagers may have been seen scouting nearby streets for potential targets the previous night. As police continue their investigation, Kristy has urged the community to unite against such violence and hopes that bringing attention to this incident will aid in capturing the suspects.
