Police have located the body of a 21-year-old man on a property in Carmel around 8:30am today. Although formal identification is still pending, authorities are confident that it is the missing individual. The man, who had autism and mental health challenges, was reported missing after last being seen at his family home in Carmel last Friday.
His brother, Conor, expressed that while it wasn’t unusual for Finn to wander into the bush, it was concerning that he hadn’t returned home, particularly as he was dealing with an injury to his foot. This raised alarms for the family, leading to fears for his safety.
In the days leading to the discovery, nearly 50 police officers, State Emergency Service (SES) volunteers, and family members conducted extensive searches through the Perth Hills bushland in hopes of finding Finn. Unfortunately, the search concluded with the tragic finding of his body.
Following this discovery, a report will be prepared for the coroner to determine the circumstances surrounding his death.
