A Jetstar flight travelling from Bali to Melbourne had to make an unscheduled return to Denpasar due to a security incident involving a disruptive passenger. The incident occurred last night when a female passenger at the back of the aircraft attempted to open the door mid-flight, triggering a warning signal that alerted the crew.

In response, the captain decided it was safest to return to the airport. Once on the ground, local authorities arrested the woman for her actions. A Jetstar representative stated that the airline prioritises the safety and welfare of both passengers and crew and expressed gratitude for the crew’s handling of the situation. They also made it clear that such behaviour is unacceptable and will not be tolerated on their flights.

As a result of the flight’s cancellation, all passengers were required to disembark. Jetstar is currently working to rebook these individuals onto alternate flights back to Melbourne.
