Two men are fighting for their lives following an arson attack on a tobacco shop in Logan, Queensland. The men, aged 47 and 54, were sleeping at the shop on Browns Plain Road in an effort to protect the business when an unknown assailant broke in around midnight. The arsonist used an accelerant to ignite the store, resulting in a severe fire.

Currently, both men are receiving treatment for life-threatening injuries at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. One has endured significant harm to his arms and legs, while the other has suffered serious burns to his lower body.

The blaze has resulted in extensive damage to the tobacco shop, with the manager reporting losses amounting to thousands of dollars in stock. Additionally, the fire affected neighbouring businesses, including a South African grocery store and a computer shop.

Authorities are urging anyone who may have dashcam or CCTV footage from the vicinity to come forward, as investigations into the arsonist are underway.
