In memory of the six lives lost in last year’s tragedy, commemorative displays have been set up outside the Westfield in Bondi Junction. Located along Oxford Street Mall, these displays aim to honour the victims and will remain in place until Wednesday, April 16.

The exhibition showcases photographs and heartfelt messages gathered from the floral tributes left after the incident. Additionally, it includes scenes from a candlelight vigil that was held on April 21 at Bondi Beach, allowing the community to remember and reflect on the impact of that tragic day.

New South Wales Premier Chris Minns expressed his condolences, stating, “One year on, we pause and reflect on the tragic events of 13 April 2024 and remember the strength of the community in the days following.” He extended his thoughts to the families of the victims, those who were injured, first responders, and all community members who still carry the memory of that fateful day.

Waverly Mayor William Nemesh also acknowledged the resilience shown by the community throughout the past year. He remarked, “Our community has demonstrated incredible strength and resilience since the horrific attack. This tragic event will not define us; we will always remember the victims and honour their legacy.”

The displays serve not only as a memorial but also as a reminder of the solidarity and strength within the community in the aftermath of an unimaginable loss.
