A multi-vehicle accident on Melbourne’s Monash Freeway caused significant traffic disruptions, prompting the closure of four out of five citybound lanes between Stud Road and Eastlink. The incident, which occurred shortly after midday in Dandenong North, involved three vehicles, with one of them overturning.
Emergency services transported one individual to Dandenong Hospital for treatment. As a result of the collision, motorists faced delays of up to 30 minutes from Heatherton Road as drivers were caught in the traffic chaos. Fortunately, all lanes were reopened shortly before 2pm, but by 2:30pm, traffic remained slow-moving from the South Gippsland Freeway, with lingering delays of around 20 minutes reported.
The incident underscored the need for caution on busy roadways as authorities worked to clear the scene and assist those affected. Public safety remains a priority, especially following such unexpected events.
