In a public statement delivered at the White House, Melania Trump, the First Lady of the United States, firmly rejected allegations linking her to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Emphasising that she has never been a victim of Epstein, she asserted, “I am not Epstein’s victim” and clarified that he did not introduce her to her husband, Donald Trump. Melania maintained that she had no prior knowledge of Epstein’s abusive activities, insisting she was “never involved in any capacity” with him, including refusing to take part in any of his notorious escapades.

Her comments also addressed a 2002 email she had sent to Epstein’s accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell, which she deemed nothing more than a “casual correspondence”. The relationship between Donald Trump and Epstein was noted, with the president acknowledging it existed but claiming he severed ties well before Epstein’s death in 2019.

Melania expressed her frustration over persistent “lies” connecting her to Epstein, calling for this misinformation to cease immediately. She voiced her disdain for those spreading these falsehoods, stating they lack ethical standards and respect, and labelled their actions as mean-spirited attempts to tarnish her reputation.

Additionally, she underscored that Epstein did not act alone, referencing the resignations of several prominent male executives following revelations of Epstein’s misconduct. Melania urged Congress to initiate hearings focused on the survivors of Epstein’s abuse, insisting that the truth can only emerge when women are given a platform to share their stories publicly.

Her statement underscored a call for transparency and accountability, as she concluded by stating that every woman deserves the opportunity to speak out if they choose to do so.
