A man is currently hospitalised following a home invasion in Merrylands, western Sydney, involving a group of masked intruders. The incident occurred around 1:45 am on Abbott Street, where the men forced their way into the property and assaulted a male resident in his 40s before fleeing the scene.
Paramedics responded to the incident and treated the victim for facial injuries, after which he was transported to hospital. Thankfully, no other injuries were reported among the household members.
Shortly after the home invasion, authorities were alerted to a car fire on Elizabeth Street in Granville. The fire was extinguished, but the vehicle was completely destroyed.
