Police in Sydney are seeking public assistance to identify a masked individual involved in the theft of ten firearms from a Chipping Norton residence earlier this year. The burglary occurred on Saturday, January 25, while the homeowners were away on holiday.
Police were notified after the homeowners noticed suspicious activity on their CCTV via a mobile app around 3pm. The footage revealed a man on the premises, which led to further investigation. It is alleged that five rifles and five pistols, valued at approximately $11,000, were taken from two safe locations within the home.
The suspect is described as Caucasian, standing between 180cm and 185cm tall, with a medium build. He was notably wearing a full-face latex mask for concealment, alongside a white long-sleeve shirt, black pants, and shoes. He was also seen carrying a black duffle bag adorned with white details.
Additionally, authorities believe the suspect drove a white Mazda CX5 GT SP, which is distinctive due to its black rims, black side mirrors, and sunroof.
The police are urging anyone with information regarding this individual or the incident to come forward by calling Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000. Your assistance could be vital in helping solve this case.
