Pat Cummins’s baggy green cap, initially thought to be lost, has been revealed to have been stolen from the Australian dressing room. Following his decision to replace his worn original cap, Cummins was presented with a new baggy green ahead of the West Indies tour. However, after a promotional photoshoot unveiling the new cap, he ultimately decided to wear the old one during the first Test in Barbados.

Teammate Mitch Starc clarified the situation, explaining that his captain’s baggy green was not lost but had been pinched prior to the match. This revelation surfaced as Starc approached his milestone 100th Test match. He humorously noted that while players who reach this milestone typically receive a new baggy green, Cummins’s recent misfortunes might mean there are none left to give him, since “all of them have gone missing lately.”

Starc confirmed that the missing cap was indeed stolen from the team’s changerooms. He recounted the “manhunt” that ensued during the Barbados Test to locate the missing hat. As of now, Cummins holds three baggy greens, similar to teammate David Warner, who once had his cap found in his backpack at the team’s hotel after a separate incident.

With the next Test set to take place in Jamaica on Sunday, the focus will be on the team’s performance, albeit tinged with the humorous backdrop of Cummins’s cap caper.
