A man has been taken into custody on the Central Coast of New South Wales following an incident where police confronted him during a domestic violence dispute, which escalated into a police car being rammed. The situation unfolded early this morning when officers arrived at a residence on Goorama Avenue in San Remo after receiving reports of a man wielding a knife in the roadway.
In an attempt to subdue him, police deployed a Taser. However, the man managed to enter his vehicle and drove towards the officers, colliding with their patrol car. As he fled the scene in a grey Mitsubishi station wagon, identified by the number plate EVM91J, at least one officer discharged their firearm at him.
A substantial manhunt ensued, covering areas including San Remo, Budgewoi, and Charmhaven. The suspect was apprehended around 7:30 AM in Gorokan. Meanwhile, a woman was removed from the San Remo home and transported to a hospital for evaluation; her current condition remains unknown.
