A significant manhunt is currently underway in Sydney as authorities seek a suspect linked to the recent death of a father in the north-west region. The search operation involves a considerable police presence, including detectives, the dog unit, a helicopter, and tactical teams, focusing on bushland areas around the city.
This intensified search follows an earlier operation where police surrounded a residence on Wylds Road and temporarily closed Old Northern Road. Despite these efforts, the suspect, identified as French, has not yet been apprehended. Officers have revisited the area after receiving tips from local residents who reported sightings of a man jumping a fence.
Local resident Maddie Park recounted how she returned home to find police at her property, revealing that the suspect had reportedly been hiding in a bobcat behind her house. While searching for French, police expanded their operations to adjacent streets and water bodies. Detectives even discovered discarded clothing and shoes during the course of their investigation.
In an unrelated incident, firefighters were dispatched to Meriden Avenue in Glenorie to tackle a grass fire, which may have connections to the ongoing case. The investigation continues as police seek to piece together more information related to the father’s death and the whereabouts of the suspect.
