A serious incident occurred early Saturday morning in Los Angeles when a vehicle crashed into a crowd waiting to enter a nightclub on Santa Monica Boulevard, injuring around 30 people. Bystanders responded by attacking the driver, who was later discovered to have sustained a gunshot wound. The circumstances surrounding the shooting—whether it happened prior to or following the crash—remain unclear as police are investigating the scene and searching for a suspected gunman who fled.

Fire Captain Adam VanGerpen reported that 23 individuals were transported to local hospitals, with at least three suffering critical injuries. Witnesses indicated that the crowd included many women who were waiting in line outside the Vermont Hollywood club for a reggae and hip-hop event. The vehicle, a Nissan Versa, struck a taco truck and valet stand in addition to the pedestrians.

VanGerpen noted that patrons inside the club rushed outside to assist those injured before emergency crews arrived. The driver of the vehicle was transported to the hospital, while police have not released his identity or current condition. Witness Maria Medrano, who was serving food from a nearby cart, described narrowly escaping injury when the vehicle hit their stand, recounting that she heard gunshots immediately after the incident.

As the investigation continues, authorities are looking into a fight that occurred outside the club shortly before the crash. The area remains cordoned off as police gather evidence and details surrounding the shocking events unfold.
