A man is currently receiving treatment for severe injuries at a hospital following a shooting during a home invasion in Gladstone Park, located in Melbourne’s north-west. The incident occurred just before 1.30 am when multiple intruders allegedly entered the home where a couple was asleep.

The alleged attack unfolded when a 60-year-old man confronted the assailants. Reports suggest he was shot and assaulted with other weapons as he attempted to defend himself and his partner. While he sustained critical gunshot wounds and required urgent medical attention, a 57-year-old woman, who was also present during the break-in, was threatened at gunpoint but thankfully escaped without physical harm.

The intruders fled the scene in a white Haval SUV and are still at large. Investigators are treating this incident as a targeted attack. Forensic detectives have been diligently examining the premises for clues as part of their ongoing investigation.

Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward to assist in apprehending the assailants. The distressing nature of this violent intrusion highlights concerns about safety and security within residential areas.
