A man has been charged following an alleged stabbing incident at a cemetery in south-west Sydney last night. Emergency services responded to a call around 11.25pm on Joyner Street in Mays Hill, where they found a 30-year-old man with multiple stab wounds. It is reported that a group of three individuals were walking through the cemetery when a confrontation occurred with a fourth man, who was camping on the premises, leading to the stabbing.
The injured man received on-site treatment from paramedics before being transported to Westmead Hospital in stable condition. In the aftermath, a 29-year-old man was arrested nearby. He was treated for minor injuries before being taken to Granville Police Station. The man has been charged with reckless wounding and has been denied bail. He is scheduled to appear in Parramatta Local Court today.
