Police are investigating a bizarre incident in Port Macquarie, New South Wales, where a ute crashed onto the roof of a residence. The event occurred around 9.30 pm last night, prompting emergency services to respond swiftly. Fire and Rescue NSW, along with State Emergency Services and NSW Ambulance paramedics, worked for approximately 25 minutes to free the 38-year-old driver who was trapped inside the vehicle.

Remarkably, a 62-year-old occupant of the home was present during the crash but fortunately escaped uninjured. Initial investigations revealed that the ute struck a safety barrier and boundary fence before unexpectedly soaring through the air and landing on the home’s roof.

According to NSW Police, the driver allegedly refused to comply with a breath test at the scene. He was subsequently arrested by officers from the Mid North Coast Police District and taken to Port Macquarie Hospital for a blood test. Following this, he was released pending further investigations.

The unusual scenario has drawn attention as police continue to uncover the circumstances leading to this unexpected crash, which could have had far more serious consequences.
