A man was apprehended early this morning in Mulgrave, Melbourne, for allegedly stealing copper cabling, according to Victoria Police. The incident unfolded around 3 am when officers responded to reports of a suspicious vehicle parked on Springvale Road.

Witnesses informed the police that they observed a man repeatedly walking between a cabling pit and the car. Upon arrival, officers discovered the 34-year-old man concealed in the pit, partially hidden by gum tree branches. When pulled out, police found he had tools, including a grinder, and multiple lengths of cut copper cable.
