A 41-year-old man has been re-arrested following a series of violent incidents, including an earlier confrontation with Australian Federal Police (AFP) at Sydney Airport. The initial altercation occurred on Wednesday morning when the man allegedly became aggressive towards AFP officers, leading to a struggle that resulted in an officer’s short-barreled rifle being unintentionally discharged. After this incident, he was granted conditional bail.

However, the man’s behaviour took a turn for the worse later that same day. Around 4:40 PM, police received reports of an altercation at Central Station. The man was accused of approaching a 45-year-old man and punching him in the face, causing the victim to fall and suffer a nosebleed. He then allegedly went on to strike two other men in the head as he walked through the concourse.

During this rampage, the suspect is also alleged to have attempted to steal a bag from a 20-year-old man. Police intervened at this stage, leading to his arrest. While in custody, he allegedly assaulted a male constable by pushing him in the chest.

As a result of these actions, the man now faces several charges, including assault and resisting arrest. He was denied bail following his re-arrest and is scheduled to appear in court today.
