A tragic incident occurred in New South Wales, resulting in the death of a man after he fell off his e-scooter. The accident took place around 7pm at the intersection of Kanahooka Road and Brolga Street in Kanahooka, located south of Wollongong.
According to reports from the scene, a 41-year-old man was riding his e-scooter when he lost control and crashed onto the roadway, sustaining serious injuries. Shortly thereafter, he was struck by a passing vehicle. Despite the immediate response from paramedics and help from bystanders, the man unfortunately succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle involved in the incident, a 59-year-old man, was taken to hospital for mandatory testing following the collision. He has since been brought to Lake Illawarra Police Station, where he is cooperating with ongoing police investigations.
Authorities have announced that a report regarding the e-scooter rider’s death will be compiled for the coroner’s review.
