Man impaled on wooden post after falling from roof at Melbourne construction site

A man was injured following a fall from a building under renovation on Irving Road in Toorak just after 7am. Reports indicate that after falling, he became impaled on a timber post. Fire Rescue Victoria teams conducted a high-angle rescue operation, cutting away the timber before transporting the man to a flat surface for medical assistance. He was subsequently taken by ambulance to The Alfred hospital, where he is being treated for critical injuries. The incident is currently under investigation by Work Safe.
