Emergency services responded to an incident at Pacific Square, located on Anzac Parade in Maroubra, at approximately 11:30am today. Upon their arrival, they discovered a young man who had sustained a wound to the back of his neck.
Paramedics provided immediate treatment before transporting him to St Vincent’s Hospital, where he is reported to be in a stable condition.
In the aftermath of the event, police established a crime scene in the vicinity to investigate the circumstances surrounding the injury.
Authorities are currently on the lookout for a suspect described as standing around 180cm tall and having Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander features. Witnesses reported that the individual was wearing a black hoodie emblazoned with the phrase ‘GEED UP’ in light blue, along with light-coloured trousers, a black cap, and a blue surgical mask.
Investigations are ongoing as police work to gather further details regarding the incident.
