A man has been detained following an incident this morning at Saint Andrew’s Cathedral School in Sydney’s CBD, where he allegedly threatened staff. Police received alerts around 9:45 am regarding the man’s intimidating behaviour, and he returned to the school grounds shortly after. In response, the school was placed on lockdown as a safety precaution while officers conducted a thorough search of the premises.

Despite the measures taken, the man was not located on the school grounds, leading authorities to lift the lockdown. Subsequently, around midday, officers were dispatched to a hotel in Surry Hills after receiving reports of a 46-year-old man exhibiting erratic behaviour and refusing to vacate the property.

Upon arrival, police arrested the individual and later confirmed he was wanted in connection with the earlier incident at the school. He was taken to Surry Hills Police Station; however, no charges have been filed against him at this stage.
