Police have reported an incident involving a man who allegedly assaulted an officer. It is claimed that he struck the officer multiple times in the head before using a small screwdriver to stab her in the arm and abdomen.
Emergency paramedics provided immediate care at the scene before transporting the officer to Wagga Wagga Base Hospital, where she is currently in stable condition. She is undergoing assessments for possible broken fingers and a suspected head injury.
The 31-year-old suspect was arrested at the location of the incident and subsequently taken to Wagga Wagga Police Station. As of now, no charges have been announced against him.
