A tragic accident in western Sydney has resulted in the death of a 57-year-old pedestrian and left a one-year-old child in critical condition. The incident unfolded around 7.45pm on Carlisle Avenue in Mount Druitt.
Emergency services swiftly arrived at the scene, where they found the man suffering from severe injuries. Despite the efforts of paramedics, he was pronounced dead at the location of the incident. At the time of the collision, he was reportedly carrying the infant.
The child’s father later presented at Mount Druitt Hospital with the injured toddler, who was subsequently transferred to Westmead Children’s Hospital for urgent medical attention.
The driver involved, identified as a 37-year-old woman, was taken to hospital for mandatory testing and is currently cooperating with law enforcement authorities as they conduct their investigation.
