A 25-year-old man has been charged following a disturbing incident in which a 66-year-old woman was struck by her own vehicle in south-east Melbourne. The event occurred at approximately 11.20 am yesterday in the car park of Casey Hospital in Berwick, where the woman was accompanied by her husband. According to reports, the man allegedly jumped into her Ford Territory, and when the woman attempted to intervene, he drove the car into her.

The injured woman was transported to a different hospital, where she is currently in serious but stable condition. Following the incident, police apprehended the suspect in Pioneer Bay, a coastal area roughly 100 kilometres south-east of Melbourne. The woman’s vehicle was recovered in the vicinity of the arrest.

The accused, who is reportedly homeless, faces multiple charges, including theft of a motor vehicle and dangerous driving resulting in serious injury. He is scheduled to appear in court later today.
