In a shocking incident in north-eastern Pennsylvania, Kevin Ahn has been charged with the abuse of his mother’s corpse, which was discovered left in a vehicle. The 31-year-old’s estranged sister reported him to the authorities after witnessing his erratic behaviour outside apartment buildings in Manheim.
The sister observed Ahn speaking nonsensically and “talking in numbers.” Concerned, she saw him enter their late mother’s Toyota RAV4, where he appeared to write something on a piece of paper before emerging again. Curious, she approached the car and found a note on the dashboard that read, “Mom is in car. I’m sorry. Please give her a funeral. My brain is fried… I lost my mind. Forgive me. Please call my sister.”
Upon questioning Ahn about the message, he abruptly left but returned approximately half an hour later, only to see his sister and her husband confront him. The situation escalated when his sister noticed what looked like a human leg concealed among clothing and items in the back seat of the SUV. Alarmed, she tried to engage him, prompting Ahn to flee on foot.
Law enforcement quickly located Ahn running in the vicinity. Upon searching the vehicle, police and emergency medical services discovered the body of his 61-year-old mother, Hyun Ahn. Authorities indicated that the deceased showed signs of trauma, including a discoloured face, neck injuries, and swollen eyes.
The District Attorney’s office has since stated that Ahn is being accused of having abused his mother’s corpse. This disturbing case has raised numerous questions regarding Ahn’s mental health and the circumstances surrounding his mother’s death.
