A 19-year-old man has been charged in connection with an alleged sexual assault on a 16-year-old girl on a train in Sydney’s north-west last December. The incident reportedly occurred on December 2, when the girl, travelling between Marayong and Quakers Hill, was touched inappropriately multiple times by a stranger. Despite her efforts to evade him by changing carriages, the man allegedly followed her until he exited the train at Quakers Hill.
After a thorough investigation, police apprehended the suspect at a residential address on Faye Street in Seven Hills on Thursday. He has been charged with sexually touching another person without consent and was subsequently taken to Riverstone Police Station for processing. Following his arrest, the man was released on conditional bail and is scheduled to appear at Blacktown Local Court later this month.
