A man from Sydney is facing charges connected to an alleged fraud involving superannuation funds, totalling $160,000. The investigation commenced in November 2024 after five individuals reported that their self-managed super funds had been accessed without authorisation.

On Tuesday, law enforcement executed a search warrant at a residence on Caddies Boulevard in Rouse Hill as part of the ongoing inquiry. During this operation, a 40-year-old man was apprehended and subsequently taken to Riverstone Police Station.

The authorities claim that the accused defrauded a total of $160,184 from these self-managed super funds since November 2024. He has been charged with five counts of dishonestly obtaining a financial advantage by deception. Following his arrest, he was granted conditional bail and is scheduled to appear in Blacktown Local Court on June 16.
