A 36-year-old man has been charged with indecently assaulting a woman while she slept on a flight from Los Angeles to Sydney on May 29. During the journey, the man moved from his seat to a different row where he allegedly inappropriately touched the passenger on her thigh and buttocks.

Upon learning of the incident, the airline crew relocated the woman to a different area of the plane for her safety. Following the flight’s arrival in Sydney, officers from the Australian Federal Police (AFP) intervened. They interviewed both witnesses and the accused before issuing him a court attendance notice for one count of indecent assault.

AFP Detective Inspector Dom Stephenson emphasised that no passenger should feel unsafe due to the actions of others on-board, reaffirming the agency’s commitment to addressing such offences. The man is scheduled to appear in Downing Centre Local Court today.
