A man has been charged with attempted murder following a reported domestic violence incident in Cabramatta, Sydney. Police responded to an emergency call at around 11:30am on the previous day, where they discovered a 51-year-old woman suffering from injuries to her neck, hands, and legs.
Emergency services treated the woman at the scene before transporting her to Liverpool Hospital, where she is reported to be in serious but stable condition. Meanwhile, a 59-year-old man, known to the victim, was apprehended nearby. He was subsequently taken to Bankstown Hospital for a mental health evaluation, where he remained under police supervision.
While still at the hospital, the man faced charges for grievous bodily harm with intent to murder. Authorities have also sought a provisional domestic violence apprehended order against him. He is set to appear in Parramatta Local Court for a bedside hearing later today.
