A teenager has been arrested and charged in connection with a shooting and subsequent car fire in western Sydney. The incidents occurred earlier this week, prompting police to respond to reports of gunfire at a residential property on Steeple Place, Marsden Park, at approximately 10:45 PM on Thursday. Upon arrival, authorities discovered multiple bullets had been shot into the house, but fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Following the shooting, emergency services were alerted to a car ablaze in a park on Oramzi Road, Girraween. Firefighters managed to extinguish the blaze, although the vehicle was completely destroyed. Detectives are currently investigating whether the shooting and the car fire are connected.

During their investigations, police conducted a stop-and-search on a ride-share vehicle on Lucretia Road in Toongabbie, where they spoke to an 18-year-old passenger. Officers reportedly found a firearm and spent ammunition cartridges in his possession. He was subsequently arrested and taken to Blacktown Police Station, where he faces charges related to the firearm offences.

As of now, no charges have been filed regarding the car fire. The teenager appeared in Blacktown Court, where he was denied bail and is scheduled to return to court on May 16. Authorities are encouraging anyone with information related to these events to reach out to Crime Stoppers.
