A man has been arrested following a hit and run incident that occurred over the weekend in Kirrawee, southern Sydney, injuring two teenage boys. Emergency services responded to reports of the crash on the Princes Highway around 9.40pm on Saturday, July 26. The incident involved a silver Toyota Echo which reportedly struck an electric bike being ridden by a 16-year-old boy, with a 15-year-old boy as a passenger.

The impact was severe enough to throw the boys onto the side of the road. The driver of the vehicle allegedly fled the scene without stopping to offer assistance. The 16-year-old sustained a fractured right leg and head injuries, necessitating his hospitalisation, while the 15-year-old was treated for lesser injuries.

Shortly after the accident, police discovered the abandoned Toyota Echo on Argyle Place, Kareela. Following investigations, a 26-year-old man was arrested at a residence in Lakemba around 10.30pm. He faces multiple charges, including dangerous driving and failing to stop and help after a crash. The man was denied bail and is scheduled to appear in court today.
