The Professional Fighters League (PFL) has officially introduced PFL Pacific, marking its expansion into Australia. The announcement was made by PFL’s global CEO, Peter Murray, during a press event at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney. Murray highlighted the significance of this launch for Australian fans, stating that it was a priority to bring their global MMA brand and top fighters to the region.

Murray expressed excitement about the partnership with Stan, emphasising that this collaboration, along with free-to-air coverage through the Nine Network, would make PFL’s content more accessible to Australian audiences than ever before. He outlined future ambitions, including a strategic goal to identify and support more Australian champions over the next three years than any competing league.

Fans can expect to see PFL events broadcast live on Stan Sport, with additional content available through 9Now and the 9Network, which will showcase live fights, highlights, and archived events. The inaugural PFL Pacific tournament is scheduled for 2026, featuring regional fighters in a thrilling single elimination format, promising exciting competitions for local MMA enthusiasts.

Stan’s acting managing director, Dan Taylor, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, noting the incredible potential of PFL Pacific to elevate the sport in Australia and showcase emerging local talent, following in the footsteps of fighters like Rob Wilkinson and Chelsea Hackett. He appreciated the opportunity to support the MMA scene from a grassroots level, ensuring the next generation of fighters have a platform to display their skills.

With extensive coverage anticipated across various platforms, PFL Pacific is set to revolutionise the way MMA is consumed in Australia, making it a pivotal moment for the sport in the region.
