Christopher Ciccone, the multifaceted artist, dancer, designer, and brother of pop icon Madonna, has passed away at the age of 63 due to cancer. His representative confirmed the news, stating that he died in Michigan on Friday.

Ciccone had a significant impact on Madonna’s career during the 1980s, featuring in music videos like “Lucky Star,” and serving as art director for the Blond Ambition World Tour and tour director for The Girlie Show. He also directed music videos for celebrated artists such as Dolly Parton and Tony Bennett. In 2008, he authored a bestselling memoir, “Life with My Sister Madonna,” revealing insights into their complicated relationship, including her romantic life and their time together on tour.

For over 20 years, Ciccone was deeply involved in his sister’s career, overseeing choreography, directing, and even designing her homes. He compared their professional dynamic to a marriage. While his candid book affected some Hollywood relationships, he maintained a connection with Madonna, stating, “I don’t work for her, and it’s better this way,” before relocating to Michigan to be nearer to family.

Ciccone married British actor Ray Thacker in 2016. His passing follows the recent losses in Madonna’s family, including her stepmother and older brother earlier this year.
