The future of LIV Golf’s presence in Adelaide is in doubt following stalled negotiations regarding the tournament’s 2027 edition at the Grange Golf Club. The club, which has hosted LIV Golf since its inaugural Australian event in 2023 and is set to hold the tournament again next year, has expressed concerns over inadequate financial offers from LIV for an extension of their contract. As a result, there’s a possibility that the tournament could be without a venue until 2028, when a new course in North Adelaide is expected to be completed.

In a communication to its members, the Grange Golf Club highlighted that it was asked to consider hosting the tournament but without full disclosure of financial terms, which they deemed unsatisfactory. They have indicated that LIV’s proposals do not meet the necessary financial requirements and lack transparency.

South Australian Treasurer Stephen Mullighan has stated that discussions with the Grange are ongoing, but he is also confident that if the negotiations do not lead to a successful agreement, alternative courses in Adelaide are available to host the event. “We have a number of beautiful courses close to the CBD that would serve as excellent alternatives for the event,” he noted.

LIV Golf continues to evaluate its options for the 2027 tournament, while the government remains optimistic about securing another suitable venue in the region. The developments highlight a critical moment for the future of LIV Golf in South Australia, as negotiations unfold and new possibilities emerge.
