Wests Tigers legend Bryce Gibbs has expressed concerns that no players in the NRL will want to team up with Lachlan Galvin due to his ongoing predicament with the club. Galvin’s management has sent a legal notice to the Tigers, alleging that the young player has experienced bullying and has not been provided with a safe working environment after he turned down a lucrative long-term contract.

This legal letter follows negative comments from Tigers players Jarome Luai and Sunia Turuva on social media regarding Galvin’s choice. Recently, Galvin was dropped to reserve grade ahead of the team’s match against Parramatta, leading to speculation that he may have already played his final game for the Tigers. Given the threats made against him since the contract dispute began, the club has increased security measures for Galvin at games.

With the situation escalating legally, it remains uncertain whether he will feature for the Wests Magpies on Monday. Although Galvin is not expected to remain with the Tigers long-term, the club has stated that they have no intention of allowing an early release from his contract. Gibbs fears that this legal situation could have dire implications for Galvin’s future in the NRL, taking to social media to criticise the management team handling Galvin’s case, stating that no player would want to be associated with him now.

Gibbs speculated that a press release from the management may follow, suggesting that they will do anything to undermine the Tigers’ stability. Meanwhile, the Eels are viewed as potential suitors for Galvin’s signature after the anticipated departure of Dylan Brown. Eels coach Jason Ryles acknowledged the team’s interest in Galvin, confirming they would be ready to engage with him when the moment is appropriate. He remarked on Galvin’s exceptional talent and hinted at Galvin’s previous connections with the club from his junior days, stressing that any decision should prioritise what’s best for Galvin and his family.
