A group of masked thieves recently stole approximately $10,000 worth of Labubu dolls from a toy store in La Puente, California, situated around 29 kilometres east of Los Angeles. According to the LA County Sheriff’s Department, the robbery occurred last Wednesday morning. The suspects used a stolen SUV for the heist, which authorities recovered shortly afterwards.

Labubu dolls, designed by Hong Kong artist Kasing Lung, have gained significant popularity as collectible items since they were first introduced a decade ago. One Stop Sales, the toy vendor affected by the theft, shared on Instagram that the robbers not only took the entire inventory but also vandalised the store.

Surveillance footage showed the assailants, dressed in hoodies and face coverings, breaking into the store and loading boxes of merchandise. The store expressed its shock in a social media post, appealing for help in identifying the culprits. The local sheriff’s department is currently investigating the incident and has not released further details regarding the suspects.
