Ahead of South Australia’s impending state election, a seasoned Labor MP, Tony Piccolo, has declared his candidacy for the newly established electorate of Ngadjuri, aiming to unseat the sitting Liberal MP, Penny Pratt. Piccolo’s optimism stems from the recent reduction of the margin in the last election to just 3.3%, indicating a potential shift in voter sentiment.

In a bid to bolster community support, Premier Peter Malinauskas recently announced a substantial $10 million investment for upgrades at Two Wells Primary School. This funding will not only enhance educational facilities but also includes the replacement of a long-standing deteriorated fence, which has troubled local parents and community members for over 30 years.

Additionally, the government’s announcement highlighted an increased police presence in the Two Wells area, further demonstrating its commitment to the region. Despite accusations that these investments are designed to sway voters ahead of the election, the government insists that such funding is a necessary allocation to support areas experiencing significant growth.

Piccolo believes he has the momentum and backing to challenge for the seat, making the next election a highly competitive affair.
