Jan Hall and June McKirdy, two pensioners with a long-standing affection for the Millers clothing brand, faced disappointment when they learned they would have to pay out of pocket to redeem their gift cards. This revelation came after Millers’ parent company, Mosaic Brands, entered receivership. The duo highlighted this issue in a segment on A Current Affair three months ago, expressing their frustration over the loss of what they considered a significant amount of money.

“I feel ripped off because $200 is a lot for us,” Hall lamented, revealing the stress the situation caused her. However, following the broadcast, a local fashion boutique, Blue Bungalow, stepped in to help. They offered Jan and June each a $200 gift card with no conditions attached. Retail manager Leisa Coates emphasised the importance of helping those in need, stating, “Money is so tight for so many people. It was our chance to sprinkle a little bit of joy on a situation that probably wasn’t looking fair.”

This gesture not only restored some joy for the retirees but also showcased the community’s willingness to support its members during challenging times.
