Radio personality Kyle Sandilands has revealed that he neglected his health for years, ultimately leading to a brain aneurysm diagnosis. The beloved host of “The Kyle and Jackie O Show” will undergo urgent brain surgery and will be off the air for up to two months. Sharing his health challenges on-air, Sandilands acknowledged that his past lifestyle choices contributed to his condition, stating, “I haven’t really looked after myself that well.”
His co-host, Jackie O Henderson, expressed her full support, emphasising the importance of his health during this difficult time, while neurologist Professor Steve Vucic reassured that while aneurysms are serious, they are treatable. He highlighted the significance of early detection to avoid more severe health crises.
Sandilands described his aneurysm as a “blister” on a weakened blood vessel, warning that if it were to burst, the consequences could be catastrophic. He reflected on the overwhelming emotion of facing such a diagnosis, particularly not wanting to leave behind his wife and young child.
This incident has been a wake-up call for the 53-year-old, who also has a long-standing career as a judge on various popular television shows. As he prepares for surgery, fans and colleagues are rallying around him, hoping for a swift recovery.
