Following his father’s passing in 2024, he described a significant escalation in the restrictions imposed upon him. He revealed to the police that after his father’s death, his only excursions beyond the house were to take the family dog outside, which happened for a mere minute each day. Essentially, he spent between 22 to 24 hours confined to his room, as detailed in a sworn affidavit.
Around a year ago, he stumbled upon a lighter in a jacket belonging to his deceased father, which sparked the beginning of his escape planning.
