A strike force investigation is currently underway regarding the tragic and suspicious death of an eight-year-old boy in Tamworth, located in north-eastern New South Wales.
Emergency services were alerted to a residence in Moore Creek yesterday evening around 6:30 PM, following the discovery of the child in an unresponsive state. Family members attempted to perform resuscitation efforts; however, despite the quick arrival of paramedics, the boy was pronounced dead shortly after reaching Tamworth Base Hospital.
In response to this incident, Strike Force Fitzgerald has been formed, consisting of local police officers along with members of the state’s homicide squad, to thoroughly investigate the circumstances surrounding the boy’s death.
A post-mortem examination is anticipated in the upcoming days to ascertain the exact cause of death, and the investigation is ongoing as authorities work to piece together relevant details.
