A social media influencer, Majda Mjoual, has opened up about the enigmatic passing of her partner, Al McKenna, a South Australian businessman, in Morocco. In a recent interview with the UK tabloid The Sun, the 27-year-old described the events leading to McKenna’s death in Casablanca, noting his declining health prior to the incident. Mjoual stated, “He was sick; the guy was actually pretty unhealthy, at the end his health was deteriorating quite a lot.”
McKenna’s family has expressed outrage over Mjoual’s decision to speak to the media instead of communicating directly with them. His father, Allan Moorhead, voiced his frustration, stating it was disgraceful that he learned details surrounding his son’s death through the press. Moorhead also revealed that he had yet to receive a death certificate and was struggling to cope with the loss.
Amidst the turmoil, concerns have arisen regarding documentation related to McKenna’s death. A business partner of McKenna has claimed to have reached out to Mjoual for information but has not received any response. Meanwhile, Mjoual indicated that the Moroccan authorities have not disclosed the official cause of McKenna’s demise.
Adding to Mjoual’s difficulties, she has stated that she cannot claim McKenna’s estate as she cannot locate a signed will, and their Islamic marriage remains unrecognised officially.
