Individuals in Critical Condition Following Truck Collision with Pedestrians in the US

At least six individuals were injured when a box truck collided with pedestrians in downtown Boston, USA, according to local authorities. The injured include two individuals in critical condition, while another two sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The remaining two were treated on-site.

Law enforcement sources indicate that investigators are treating the incident as an accident. The crash occurred around 12:48 PM local time on Tuesday, at the intersection of Harrison Avenue and Kneeland Street. According to Boston Police Officer Michael Torigian, responders arrived to find a truck that had both struck an adjacent building and several pedestrians. Emergency services, including Boston Fire and EMS, were quickly on the scene assisting in rescue operations, although the total number of victims has not yet been confirmed.

Aerial footage revealed the truck, a rented Penske model, was overturned and wedged between a pole and a building, with significant front-end damage. Penske has stated that the company is fully cooperating with the ongoing investigation and expressed its condolences to those injured in the incident.

As authorities work at the scene, roads in the vicinity of Harrison Avenue and Kneeland Street, between Tyler and Washington streets, have been closed to the public.
